Guiding the evening's experience will be:
Patrick Cappiello, a Rochester native, is the founder of Renégat Wines, owner of Monte Rio Cellars and Wine Director at Walnut Street Café. He is also the Chef Sommelier for Daniel Johnnes "La Paulée", a Food & Wine host for Playboy and founding member of Winemakers & Sommeliers for California Wildfire Relief. His national accolades include Sommelier of the Year 2014 (Food & Wine Magazine), Wine Person of the Year 2014 (Imbibe Magazine), and Sommelier of the Year 2015 (Eater National).
Scott Schultz is a trailblazer among a movement of young winemakers in the US, and makes some of the most unique and highly sought-after wines in California. His passion for wine was ignited when he moved to Napa from Chicago in 2007 to lead the wine program at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon. Jolie-Laide is Scott's one-man operation based in a Sebastopol winery where he makes only 500 cases of wine a year under his own label. The name Jolie-Laide translates loosely to “Pretty-Ugly,” a French term of endearment to describe something that is unconventionally beautiful. In addition to Jolie-Laide, Scott works with Wind Gap and Ryme Cellars.
